On Friday 31st January 2025, Stage Entertainment announced[1] audition applications were being accepted.

German musical theatre website musicalpuls.com shared[3] that the deadline for applications was 20th February 2025, with auditions taking place in Hamburg from 10th March 2025 and work sessions running from 21st to 26th April 2025, speculating that the show would premiere at the Stage Operettenhaus theatre in Hamburg no earlier than March 2026.
The Stage Entertainment website was launched on Tuesday 6th May 2025, accompanied an official Instagram account and Facebook page, announcing that the German production of Zurück In Die Zukunft – Das Musical would open at the Stage Operettenhaus in Hamburg, with tickets on sale for previews beginning Sunday 15th March 2026 and regular performances from Tuesday 24th March 2026 until Sunday 20th December 2026.
On Tuesday 21st October 2025, it was revealed that there would be an additional preview on Saturday 14th March 2026 named “The Real Knossi Experience” presented by Jens “Knossi” Knossalla.[4]
